Bay Colony has always been for the wealthiest buyers and for those who value their guarded privacy.  Over the years, CEOs of Wendy's, Johnson and Johnson, Kentucky Fried Chicken and McDonald's have been among the many well known owners in Bay Colony.  It was Bay Colony  that attracted the successful and affluent buyers. 

Bay Colony is a series of short islands nestled along the Intracoastal Waterway; that have easy names to remember; Compass or Bay Colony followed by Road, Drive, Lane or Point, so it is very important to add the suffix if mailing to one of these addresses. The homes were developed in the 1960's and 1970's and remained the same for many years before builders came back in and erected new and even more luxurious homes.

Security is very tight in Bay Colony.  The guards screen everyone who comes in and even make sure that guests and real estate agents don't drive around looking at the homes there.  It is quite effective!  The security in Bay Colony had no match in the southeast until The Harborage initiated 24/7 security a few years ago.  Bay Colony is a very real draw for families with children because it is so close to Cardinal Gibbons and the premier private Pinecrest School.  The campus at Pinecrest looks like a college campus and has a top notch reputation.  It is a nonsectarian co-educational prep school serving PK through Grade 12.  Originally started as a tutoring school for winter visitors, it grew to be a real powerhouse school when it moved its campus from downtown Fort Lauderdale to a much larger campus in northeast Fort Lauderdale and became "the" school for new residents of the Fort Lauderdale area.
