The Landings

          Unrestricted water is bordered on the south by Commercial Blvd., on the east by The Intracoastal, on the north by Bay Colony, on the west by Bayview Drive. On the west side of Bayview it becomes Lake Estates with restricted waterfront, bordered by Commercial Blvd. on the south, US1 on the west, 62nd Street and 59th Street as it jogs down on the north, and Bayview on the east. The restrictive bridge is 12’ at median tide.

          The Landings is a lovely waterfront neighborhood in northeast coastal Fort Lauderdale with winding streets off Bayview Drive. It was developed in the 1950's to the 1970’s and is still developing as new homes are continually being built. This area has all the great shopping and dining that other subdivisions like Coral Ridge and the islands in the southeast have. Nothing is very far away in the coastal areas of this town. For those buyers who want to send their children to a private school, Pinecrest is a very highly rated school just minutes away. Pinecrest offers kindergarten through high school but the entrance exams are pretty strict so if this is what you want, start early to try to get your children enrolled.           Buyers coming into town have a decision to make on location. If boating is a strong preference, the southeast neighborhoods offer much quicker access to the ocean for fishing or recreational boating. Even though The Landings has unrestricted waterfront, it is still five opening bridges from Port Everglades, all a little time consuming so the boater has choices depending on the type of boating desired. The area itself is just lovely with short winding streets and good canals.
