This pleasant little seaside town covers a wide stretch of coastal beach area in north Fort Lauderdale. It has passed strict zoning and building height restrictions which has allowed the character of the town's low key, low rise feeling to be maintained. It is comprised mostly of neat, small well run shops and restaurants which offer unique foods and services and keep the customers coming. During holiday time, the town generally provides street entertainment, various craft shows and musical events. It is very walkable and strollable, so you don't need to drive in order to get from one place to another.
The beach near the pier, commonly known as Aruba Beach, provides one of the best quiet places for sunbathing and swimming.
