On the north side of Las Olas, Victor Nurmi developed three islands considered to be in the top tier of residential subdivisions. Each island is accessed across a bridge, is palm lined and has underground utilties. These islands, Royal Palm, Nurmi, and Fiesta Way, are wide , without any poles or wires, and lighted along the street by attractive light columns - a very pretty presentation. The older homes are becoming few and far between as new homes seem to dominate the streets. The canals of these islands are deeper and wider than the south islands but do have one bridge between them and the ocean, the Las Olas Bridge, which opens on demand or every 15 minutes.
These islands have all the advantages of being close to the beach, shopping, dining, Port Everglades and the Fort Lauderdale International Airport - all within minutes of your home.
